Ocean6: The future of surfs sports has arrived
Ocean6, the new look of surf sports competition, was revealed today along with the announcement of Kellogg Australia’s continued sponsorship of the iconic Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman Series.
Taking place over six ocean festivals the Ocean6 Series has been designed to bring the action and excitement of surf sport disciplines into the modern age. Ocean6 combines the skills of an Olympic swimmer, with a world class track and field athlete and an ocean-faring ski and board paddler into one high-octane competition.
Athletes compete across six disciplines; Paddle Board, Open Ocean Swim, Surf Ski, Taplin Relay, Beach Flags, and the flagship Nutri-Grain IronMan and IronWoman professional competition.
The first round kicks off at Queenscliff on October 28. Events will run along the East Coast over the summer season through to the sixth round at North Cronulla over the 24th – 25th of February. With 300 thousand dollars in cash prize money up for grabs the competition will be hotly contested by the best surf sport athletes in Australia and the world.
Trent Goulding, Ocean6 spokesperson said:
