The Summer of Surf is back for the 2015/16 season and will be kicking off in just under a month. The Summer of Surf is travelling the east coast of Australia in a bid to test the athletes in a variety of conditions, and prove who is the best of the best.
Round 1 (24th and 25th October) will see surf sports returning to the renowned home of Surf Life Saving, Kurrawa, much to the delight of the competitors and spectators! Jay Furniss, the inaugural Summer of Surf Ironman Champion, is
“extremely exited to be returing to Kurrawa! Growing up, Kurrawa has always been seen as the home of our sport. There is really no better place to start our summer of racing!”
As the first event of the season, Kurrawa will give the competitors the opportunity to see their hard work in the off-season finally pay off, and is the first chance to secure crucial series points. As Jordan Mercer, 2014/15 Summer of Surf Ironwoman Champion knows
“the first round is crucial in setting up your season! A good first result can be the key to finally claiming the Title!”
It is sure to be an exciting weekend of racing with competitors fighting it out til the end to get as many points as they can!
