After a nail biting weekend on the Sunshine Coast the 6 spots allocated to the Nutri-Grain trialists have been secured. Out of the 6 successful athletes 5 will be preparing for their first ever professional series. The ironwoman races finished with rising stars Lizzie Welborn and Ella Brown in 1st and 2nd, with Danielle McKenzie in 3rd requalifying after her professional debut last season. After some extremely close racing there will be a few girls still hoping to make the cut with one wildcard left in the women’s event!
In the men’s field we saw Ben Carberry, Max Beattie and Cory Taylor rise to the top. With all three boys showcasing their consistency and skill, proving to be more than worthy of entering the professional ranks.
With the Nutri-Grain Series kicking off in 9 weeks, the successful trialists will be back to training, getting themselves ready for an even bigger challenge!
